My Notes: A Warm, Authentic Handwritten Font for Campaigns

I was finalizing a launch series for a small-batch ceramic studio’s spring collection—think Instagram carousels, Pinterest mood pins, and a YouTube thumbnail set—and kept hitting the same wall: the fonts I’d used before felt too polished, too distant. What this brand needed wasn’t sleek minimalism—it needed warmth, approachability, and the quiet confidence of something made by hand. That’s when I opened My Notes, a Script Handwritten font built for exactly that moment.

My Notes for Instagram Story Highlights and Reel Covers

My Notes shines where attention is fleeting and tone is everything—like Instagram story highlights or reel covers. Its uppercase and lowercase characters are drawn by hand, so no two letters feel mechanically identical. That slight irregularity? It reads as human, not hesitant. I tested it over soft pastel gradients and textured paper backgrounds—no harsh contrast needed. On mobile previews, the letterforms hold their shape beautifully at 48–60pt sizes. Just avoid dropping it below 32pt on stories; the delicate joins between letters start to blur in fast-scrolling feeds. For reel covers, I paired My Notes with a clean, airy sans serif (like Inter or Poppins) for subtitles—My Notes handles the emotional hook (“New Glazes Just Dropped”), while the sans serif delivers clarity and pacing.

My Notes for Email Banners and Webinar Promos

When designing an email banner for a slow-living online course launch, I needed typography that whispered “thoughtful,” not “salesy.” My Notes delivered that instantly. Because the characters are drawn by hand to give them a warm and authentic look, it softened the visual weight of the headline without sacrificing legibility—even over semi-transparent overlays on hero images. I used it exclusively for the main banner text (max 6 words), then switched to a light-weight serif for body copy. Important note: My Notes is a display font, not a paragraph font. It’s not built for dense email text or long bullet lists. But as a branded anchor—yes, absolutely. And yes, it’s licensed for commercial use in email templates, client campaigns, and digital products, which saved me from last-minute licensing panic.

My Notes for Pinterest Pins and Branded Template Packs

Pinterest thrives on texture, intention, and subtle storytelling—and My Notes fits like a glove. I used it across a set of 12 quote-based pins for a mindfulness content series. The handwritten authenticity helped each pin feel personal, like a note jotted in a favorite journal—not a stock graphic. Since Pinterest thumbnails often appear tiny in feeds, I kept all My Notes usage to single-line headlines (4–5 words max) with generous letter spacing. No ligatures or stylistic alternates were needed—My Notes ships with straightforward uppercase and lowercase sets, plus standard OpenType features. For template packs, I appreciated that it’s available in both .OTF and .TTF formats, and works reliably across Canva, Figma, and Adobe apps. Just double-check your platform supports custom fonts before uploading—some free-tier tools limit script font rendering.

My Notes for Product Teasers and Online Shop Campaigns

A local apothecary asked for help teasing their limited-edition lavender honey line. Their brand voice is gentle, grounded, and quietly luxurious—so serif fonts felt too formal, and bold sans serifs too loud. My Notes struck the right balance: the hand-drawn quality evokes craft and care, while its balanced x-height and open counters keep it readable on product cards and shop banners. I used it for short campaign labels (“Small Batch • Hand-Poured • Made Here”) and avoided stacking it with other script fonts—pairing it instead with a neutral, low-contrast sans serif (like Lato Light) created strong visual hierarchy. On dark backgrounds, I added a subtle white stroke (1px) to ensure contrast—My Notes has enough natural weight to handle that without looking heavy. But be realistic: don’t try to use it for size charts, ingredient lists, or legal disclaimers. It’s a Script Handwritten font—not a utility font.

My Notes for YouTube Thumbnails and Digital Ad Layouts

For a set of YouTube thumbnails promoting a “Beginner’s Guide to Natural Dyeing” series, I needed type that stood out in a crowded feed but still felt aligned with the channel’s calm, educational vibe. My Notes worked best when isolated—centered over a muted linen background, with just one word (“Indigo,” “Madder,” “Walnut”) in large scale. Its organic flow draws the eye without shouting. In digital ad layouts—especially static Facebook or Google Display ads—I used it sparingly: only for the primary emotional trigger (“Handmade With Care”), never for CTAs or pricing. Why? Because while My Notes is expressive and warm, it trades some functional sharpness for authenticity. That’s not a flaw—it’s a design decision. Just know what job you’re hiring it for.

If you’re building campaigns where warmth, humanity, and handmade credibility matter—whether it’s for a boutique, a creator course, a seasonal sale, or a values-driven brand—My Notes isn’t just another Fonts download. It’s a deliberate tone-setter. It won’t fix weak copy or poor layout—but in the right context, with thoughtful pairing and smart sizing, it adds quiet authority to every pixel it touches.
